Garden waste

Please be advised that we are sending approximately 8,000 letters to existing garden waste customers from Friday 18 November to advise of a collection day change. If you do not receive a letter, it is because you have not been affected by these changes.

We are making this change to re-balance the rounds to provide an efficient and reliable service to our customers. The letter will advise you of your new collection date and subsequent collections until March 2023.

Havant Borough Council operates a kerbside garden waste collection service every two weeks.

On joining the scheme you'll receive a brown lidded bin, and if you receive an assisted collection for your rubbish and recycling service you will automatically be eligible for assistance with the garden waste collection service.

The wheeled bin remains the property of Havant Borough Council. The amount payable for this service is for your yearly collection licence only.

The licence period is 1 April to 31 March each year and there are no pro rata deductions if you join during the licence period.

Once an annual licence is purchased it is non-refundable.

If the licence is not renewed then the householder will be expected to return the bin, or be charged.

There will be a charge for all replacement, lost or stolen wheeled bins as well as non-returned bins if you choose to discontinue with the collection service.

Before renewing or signing up to the garden waste service, please read our terms and conditions.
